I was off for business travel this week to Charlotte, North Carolina. If you live in the US right now, you realize that this past week was not the week for lots of outdoor sight seeing so pretty much all I saw of Charlotte was the airport, my hotel, and a little shopping/dining area right behind my hotel.
This project is with Achieving The Dream. They are an incredible organization that works with community colleges to help them improve their student success at all levels of the organization. I am really lucky to do a lot of work with them. This past week, we kicked off a three year project with two colleges out of upstate New York. I'm working with another ATD coach on the project so we split our time between the two colleges. I enjoyed getting to know the college I primarily worked with and will enjoy working with our colleagues at the second college as well.
Achieving The Dream weeks are jam packed from about 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. each day so there isn't a lot of time for site seeing anyway - which was definitely fine this past week as it has just been hot and humid. My flights were fine. I luckily only got slowed down a little bit by one weather stop in Atlanta. Had I flown a day later, I would have been stuck in Atlanta overnight or longer due to weather.
When I arrived back in Indy, my suitcase hadn't made the flight. It appeared, based on the air tag location, to have been taken to the baggage claim area in Atlanta by mistake. So, I filed a claim with Delta and headed home. My bag didn't arrive for over 24 hours - and only after they sent the wrong bag to my house.
After the busy week of travel, it's been a nice quiet weekend. We continue to water the sod every night from our landscaping project. Doing so gave me a chance to check out the new wagon that my sister Susie picked up for me from one of her students. Kona was fine while he was right next to me in the wagon. When Gayle took him on a little adventure away from me though he demonstrated he will jump out and come back to me.
Next week ends with July 4. Neighbors are already starting to set off fireworks most evening. I have a quiet week of work to catch up on this week which I'm looking forward to getting through.
