I spent most of the week at what I lovingly refer to as the Meadow, which is my dad and sister Susie's place. Susie was traveling and I haven't been keeping up on my aim to spend at least a week every other month visiting their place. I love visiting with Susie, so I missed her (although we had a couple of nice phone chats while she and her friend Donna drove to Mt. Rushmore and back.) It was great dad time!
I can't do work quite as effectively at their place but I did try working from a couple of different places - both of which were lovely. First, I had some nice time working from Glen Miller park while dad was in an eye doctor appointment.

Second, I went to my childhood library - Morrisson-Reeves - and worked from there one afternoon. The library is going to be renovated soon so this was likely the last time to see my old stomping grounds. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of spending time sitting in the stacks reading and writing. My mom volunteered with the American Cancer Society which was located just around the corner. She would either take me to the library where I would stay until she came back or I got old enough to walk there on my own! As I was leaving, there was a food truck and music event going on in the plaza across the street so I got to enjoy some good hibachi!
The best times of the week were times spent with family and friends. Dad and I had some lovely chats during the week and even worked on the puzzle I got him which may be impossible! It's a photo of our old barn with a rainbow. The entire top is just white/grey sky. It really is awful but we had fun chatting while trying to find just one piece to go in. Dad's sister, my Aunt Idris, also came over and I spent some time "interviewing" them on camera for some family history work I continue to try to chip away at. Lots of good stories - some I'd heard before and some I hadn't. Finally, Kona and I went to visit our friends Brimley and Diana. The dogs were so incredibly excited to see each other. Diana and I had a really nice visit.
All in all, a great week.
