Week 08, February 16 - 22, 2026

It's been a while since I did one of these weekly updates - and I miss doing them! So, back at it again. It's funny that the last one of these I posted, I was also at my dad and sister's house - aka "The Meadow" - for a part of the week. I decided I'd put together a little photo carousel of last week and then chat about what happened.

The biggest accomplishment of the week was passing the certification exam that is part of the requirements for becoming an Accredited Financial Counselor. In a bit of life comes full circle, I took the exam at a testing center at one of the Ivy Tech campuses (not one I specifically worked at, but I worked with all of them). I started the very first testing center in the Ivy Tech system a couple of decades ago so it was cool to use the service that I helped build.

The rest of the week was spent on writing and working - and most importantly some family time. I was supposed to spend the first week of February at The Meadow. Unfortunately, I came home from vacation with a terrible, terrible cold/flu/COVID something or other and I was down for the count for about two weeks. So, I finally found a few days in my schedule that worked well to go spend time over there. I had fun with my great nephews and we even fit in a couple of really great meals - one seafood feast at home and then a quick bite at the local McAlister's following a basketball game. On the way back home after the Meadow, I even saw my oldest great nephew play in his first Indiana Percussion Association indoor show.

Hopefully this is the first of many of these little updates and I'll see you back here next week.
